In what could pass for a political comedy skit, the running mate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) in the 2024 elections, Wayoe Ghanamanti, has boldly announced that he’s filed a petition asking Parliament to kick President John Dramani Mahama out of office.

According to Mr. Ghanamanti, “the country has suffered enough drama,” and it’s time for Parliament to bring the curtain down on “Season 2 of Mahama’s presidency.” Sources say he marched to Parliament holding his petition like a school project, ready to make Ghana “laugh its way to accountability.”

Some onlookers reportedly asked if he was serious or just testing his campaign rehearsals for 2028. One said, “CPP no dey win elections but dem dey always make noise like they own the country’s microphone.”

Meanwhile, President Mahama’s camp is yet to respond, possibly because they’re still trying to confirm whether this petition came through Parliament or through April Fool’s Headquarters.
